Yeah today my daily horoscope thingie says it all : “What it is that you’ve been dying to try for what seems like forever? There’s no time like the present to give it a shot, and absolutely nothing you can’t pull off if you set your mind to it. In the meantime, a bit of creative visualization wouldn’t hurt. You don’t have time for lunch? Or dinner? Better make time. No matter how little it may be, it’s something. Besides, it’s true what they say about quality vs. quantity. No matter which sense you choose to overindulge, be sure to have a diligent chaperone on duty. Someone with a good sense of humor would probably be best.” So this stuff is actually good for something..

It’s already 4 pm so let’s start alright. I made my room a complete mess yesterday, so i will clean that up in a -hopefully- record tempo while eatin’ (hmm okay i know). Then study study so maybe i still can have a quick peak in the city before everything closes! Damn, sometimes i hate my nightly thirst.

Something that caught my attention today is a video about peta and jenna jameson (following up the rest of celebrities that go naked for animal rights). I was VERY GLAD to hear that she decided to change her way of thinking and to work for peta because of the documentary earthlings. ‘Earthlings’ (2003) is a feature length documentary about humanity’s absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and… all scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called “non-human providers.” The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby.

I saw the documentary last year and still am impressed of what I have seen. My human heart bleeded when seeing so much pain caused by humanity itself. We pledge for equality between humans, but where is the equality on this world as earthlings. Can we really use other living beings for our own gratifications, is humanity that more important than other living beings that they may hurt them for their own “lifestyle”. It’s no longer about survival. And I am not a vegetarian. But if we recognize what we are doing on this world, what we are consuming, what the prize is for all our welt.. then actually our goals don’t justify the means. What humanity defines is then: DISRESPECT

I have always been busy working with shedules, agenda and planning but since I know that I have difficulties with my attention I am extremely motivated to try out everything I can find. Maybe this can be of help for others as well so I will mention here some resources I find helpfull and/or which I think are interesting.

For the moment I am trying to figure out an online planner named Skoach. Skoach is management software running online in a browser window. It allows you to plan your days and weeks. It has a time map where you can make categories for all sorts of stuff to do, reminders, follow up time while busy with a task, and so on. Check it out! Further I very much like the blog of David Seah. He writes about design, development, inspiration, and self-empowerment. David has created a lot of free tools for planning and goal acquiring. Everything is to print out on paper this time. I am still not sure which tools work the best for me but I am certain that using some of his designs will help me manage my time better and see if I am working towards the goals I want to achieve. But still a little difficult :) Next to this I am now replacing my paper sticky notes by the electronical sticky notes which you can place on your desktop. Handy to save some paper and at least my wall is not full with little yellow papers anymore :) Easy to find on the internet. Another thing you can use if you leave your computer mostly always on is wake up news or speed up alarm (I use the last one for the moment to wake me up in the morning cause the other one you can only use as a trial, and it’s finished for me).

HAPPY 2008 for everybody! I made my plans and good intentions for 2008 but I am already not followin’ them. Seriously, this is already one intention that should be followed. For the moment the examperiod is “hot”. My first exam is on the 11th but I advance really too slow. I still hate those statistics brr.  While I am trying to study I also get very excited about this new year. It feels like everything is possible again, so let’s catch up with that after exams.
